A Crochet Jam is a public, art-making event focused on relaxation and human connection led by local artist Ramekon O’Arwisters.

Join us at the Public Knowledge Branch in SFMOMA and learn how to crochet stitch and create an art piece using the chet hooks and fabric strips provided.

The program is designed to be a meditative practice with no prescribed outcome for the creative process. Participants will be able to keep their creations.

O’Arwisters started Crochet Jam in 2012. His social-art practice is rooted in a cherished childhood memory steeped in the African-American tradition of weaving that brings people together in the creation of large free form rag rugs.

Free and open to the public
