Hear from a diverse range of speakers invested in the Bay Area’s urban culture as they examine shared concerns, especially around the meaning, value, and challenges of civic life today.

What does it mean to design with communities in mind? California College of the Arts professors Shalini Agrawal and Chris Treggiari will address this question, drawing on their long-term collaboration with the Mission Neighborhood Resource Center. They will explore the importance of taking creative and inclusive approaches when working in the public interest, and discuss how a hybrid practice that combines methods from architecture, art, and design can allow for new ideas to emerge that better address community needs.
