Western Neighborhood Project on the Richmond

February 2nd, 2019 2-3PM
Richmond Branch Library
351 9th Avenue San Francisco, CA 94118

Neighborhood historian Woody LaBounty will give a presentation on the massive, 3-D scale model of San Francisco created by the Works Progress Administration in the late 1930s. Described by someone recently as "a pre-Internet Google Street View," the model depicts every structure standing in the city at the time. Woody will explain the purpose and creation of the model as well highlight the development of the Richmond District using sections of the model on display in the branch.
